2017 Christmas events and light displays Montgomery AL

It’s crazy for us to believe that it’s already December. While there’s still plenty of work left until the holidays, you know they’re on everyone’s minds! Before we get carried away with celebrating, the team here at Jack Ingram Nissan wanted to fill you in on some activities in our area that will definitely get you into the Christmas spirit! Montgomery Zoo Christmas Lights Festival

Date: December 7-10 & 14-31 | 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm 

Location: Montgomery Zoo | 2301 Coliseum Pkwy., Montgomery, AL 

Information: If you have a free evening with the family, make your way to the Montgomery Zoo. The zoo will be transformed into a twinkling Christmas-themed wonderland. Attendees will be able to view the lights walking through the zoo, from the comfort of the zoo train, or even with a bird’s eye view from the Zoofari Skylift! Admission is $15 and includes a train ride.  

The Living Christmas Tree

Date: December 8,9 & 10 | 7 pm 

Location: First Baptist Church | 305 S. Perry St., Montgomery, AL 

Information: The Living Tree is a true Montgomery Christmas tradition. First Baptist Church will do a ceremonial lighting of their large Christmas tree complete with a full orchestra and 150+ member orchestra. This is truly a beautiful experience for those of all ages. Admission is a $5 donation to one of the most historic and beautiful churches in Montgomery.  

Alabama Governor’s Mansion Christmas Candlelight Tours

Date: December 11 & 18| 5:30 pm – 7 pm 

Location: Alabama Governor’s Mansion | 1142 Perry St., Montgomery, AL 

Information: Another Alabama Christmas tradition is tours of The People’s House. Visitors can visit the historic mansion, and take a free tour of the house and grounds, dressed up in its Christmas finery! Tours are free, and no reservations are required. All you have to do is stop into the Governor’s Mansion Gift Shop for your free tickets. This is a great event for the whole family.
