Let’s start where drivers are always most curious, the engine! The 2019 Nissan Altima debuts two new engines. First, there’s the new standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder Direct Injection Gasoline engine which can produce up to 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque while still getting up to an EPA-estimated highway fuel economy of 39 mpg!
The 2018 Nissan Altima, on the other hand, offered a standard engine that produced 179 horsepower, 177 lb-ft of torque and could get a highway fuel economy up to 38 mpg. It goes to show that the 2019 Altima just has a little bit of extra value!
The 2019 Nissan Altima also offers the brand-new VC-Turbo engine, the first of its kind! With the ability to flex and extend for better power and efficiency, the VC-Turbo offers more torque and a better fuel economy than the 2018 Altima’s 3.5-liter V6, with 267 lb-ft of torque and up to 34 mpg on the highway!
Does the 2019 Nissan Altima Have ProPILOT Assist?
The 2019 Nissan Altima’s new changes don’t just stop underneath the hood! The 2019 Altima also offers new technology and driver-assist features that were not available in the 2018 Altima, like the Nissan ProPILOT Assist!
The Nissan ProPILOT Assist is Nissan’s most advanced driver-assist technology yet. It offers semi-autonomous driving in traffic and the open road, with the ability to keep a set distance and stay centered in the lane on its own!
