Release Date for the 2020 Nissan Sentra

One of the most important dates on the automotive industry’s calendar is the start of the Los Angeles Auto Show. Nissan took this important opportunity to introduce some important changes to the latest generation of its midsize sedan. When the release date for the 2020 Nissan Sentra arrives at the Jack Ingram Nissan showroom, it will feature a more powerful and, reportedly, more efficient engine as well as the automaker’s latest safety monitoring technology. Beyond these changes, the 2020 Sentra will continue to offer almost everything that has helped it sell 6 million models in its history. Let’s take a look at what it will have to offer Jack Ingram Nissan customers.

Performance Specs

The 2020 Nissan Sentra is the latest version of the midsize sedan that has been in production since 1982 and it will be among the most powerful versions the manufacturer has produced. Under the hood of the new Nissan Sentra will be a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that is reported to produce as much as 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque. These figures represent 20 and 16 percent increases, respectively. Even with the uptick in power output, Nissan is estimating that the 2020 Sentra will manage to use less fuel overall than its previous iterations.

“Nissan has a vibrant portfolio of new-generation sedans for customers in the U.S. market,” David Kershaw, division vice president, Nissan Sales & Regional Operations, Nissan North America, Inc., said in a press release. “With more than 6 million Sentra vehicles sold, we believe the all-new Sentra will reach new heights offering refinement and quality, technology and performance not seen before.”

Connectivity and Safety Technology

Most of the Nissan class of 2020 will offer some level of active safety monitors through the Nissan Safety Shield 360 system. All 2020 Sentra trims coming to the Jack Ingram Nissan showroom will offer Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking and High Beam Assist. Additionally, the driver and passengers will be protected by 10 airbags as well as Rear Door Alert, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Intelligent Driver Alertness.

Connectivity technology is a popular feature across all vehicle segments. Every model of the new Sentra coming to Montgomery will be equipped with an 8-inch multi-touch center-mounted touchscreen that will run a smartphone-compatible infotainment system. Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® are each standard equipment.
