Have you heard about Nissan’s Rear Door Alert Technology? The new safety technology could help save lives, especially during the hot summer, or just help you stop forgetting things in your car! We’ll explain how this technology works and where you can find it, here!
Nissan’s Rear Door Alert technology is there to help you remember to grab things in the back seat, whether that’s just some luggage, some food or even a child. Especially during the summer, cars can get extremely hot and to leave something in the backseat can be dangerous. Young children especially shouldn’t be left in a car that’s outside for even a couple minutes.

Sometimes, though, people just forget. That’s where Nissan’s Rear Door Alert technology comes in! How it works is the technology monitors when the rear doors are opened and closed before and after the vehicle is in motion. If the rear door was used before a trip, but not after, it will send a notification reminding the driver that they may have forgotten something in the back seat.
Now, the Nissan technology is always there to make sure you remember what’s in the back seat whether its cargo, food or even passengers. Nissan hopes that it can bring down instances of parents forgetting kids in the car and other dangerous things that shouldn’t be left in a hot car.
What Nissan Vehicles Have Rear Door Alert?
If you’re interested and want to get a Nissan vehicle with this great technology, you’re about to get a lot more choices! The Rear Door Alert is currently standard on the 2018 Pathfinder, and for the 2019 model year, it will be standard equipment on four-door models including the new Altima and Rogue.
Nissan also says they plan on the technology to be standard on all four-door trucks, sedans and SUVs by the 2022 model year.
