First and foremost, the 2018 Nissan Rogue will be the very first U.S. vehicle to offer advanced ProPILOT Assist technology (See below). This set of intelligent features aims to make driving safer for all of those on the road. For 2018, Nissan will also be adding a special Midnight Edition Rogue model to the lineup, featuring bold black accents including a v-front grille, and black front and rear facias. The model will be available across three configuration grades, in both front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). We have some more details for you below, so keep reading for more information.
Earlier, we mentioned that the 2018 Nissan Rogue will be the first U.S. vehicle to offer available ProPILOT Assist. ProPiLOT Assist is the first step for the foundation of fully autonomous vehicles on the roadways. This is a major step, as Nissan is the very first major automaker to introduce this in a U.S.-marketed vehicle. The capabilities that will be present in the 2018 Nissan Rogue Platinum Package allow the vehicle to maintain and set a vehicle speed, maintain a set distance from other traffic ahead, and maintain vehicle-centering in its lane of traffic. All of this is controlled with an extremely simple two-button operation.
As this edition of Pro-Pilot Assist is the foundation for later editions of this technology, Nissan has also presented a timeline for full-automation.
