The 2021 Nissan Frontier is available in three trim levels–S, SV, and Pro-4X—as well as two cab styles. The King Cab version of the Frontier can seat up to four passengers, but the rear doors are rear-hinged, and it comes only with the larger 6-foot bed. The Crew Cab has four full-size doors and a roomier backseat with an extra 8 inches of legroom. This one can be had with the 5-foot or 6-foot bed.
Every 2021 Nissan Frontier has an excellent 3.8-liter V6 that churns out a best-in-class 310 horsepower and can tow up to 6,720 pounds. A standard 9-speed automatic transmission makes for smooth power delivery and responsive shifting. Fuel economy comes in at 18 mpg city/24 mpg highway, according to the EPA. Frontier 4x4 models offer up to 10.1 inches of ground clearance, while RWD versions offer up to 9.8 inches. Even the base Frontier has no trouble venturing off-road, but the Pro-4X model is the best off-road specialist in the range. It adds Bilstein off-road shock absorbers, all-terrain tires, and underbody skid plates.
All 2021 Frontiers come with keyless entry/ignition, a detachable tailgate, power windows, and a large center touchscreen. The higher trims will add additional creature comforts like rear parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a self-dimming rearview mirror, a power moonroof, and the 10-speaker Rockford Fosgate sound system.
